Jordan Eberle scored one amazing goal and added one assist in the Edmonton Oilers 4-0 win against their provincial rivals, Calgary Flames, on Thursday, October 7th.
Thursday night was a big night for the rookie NHL player Jordan Eberle. This was his first professional hockey game ever and also the home opener for the Oilers. It is very important for the athletes to play their very best in a game like this. The oilers were in the lead 1-0, and short handed. At that time, Eberle scored a magnificent goal. Eberle was able to get by the defenseman with a toe drag deek followed by a backhander upstairs while he was falling to score. His first NHL goal was so nicely done he earned TSN’s highlight of the night and many analysts estimated that there will not be another goal quite like it this season. Although Eberle played in his first game, a performance like this was not unexpected as he scored many big goals in the gold medal games in the 2009 and 2010 World Junior Hockey Championships” "It was one of the nicer goals I've scored for sure," said Eberle. "As of right now, it's one of the more special ones I've had."
